These Guys Brewing

Those guys over at These Guys know what they are doing! They’ve got some great stuff brewing over in Norwich.

Norwich is an interesting place. It feels and looks like the valley but is out towards the shore line. Downtown Norwich is just minutes away from the casinos with an awful lot to offer. My wife and I made it here after a wedding for brunch before we had to return to the real world of parenthood and the dreaded Sunday night feelings of another week ahead.

This brew pub is a little place with a wicked looking menu offering up lots of elevated pub food. The bartender was super friendly and answered questions about the menu. I ordered a fruited wheat beer - excellent - and drank it with a ridiculous Cheeseburger. It was great AND had a piece of bacon that was thicker than pretty much every other piece of bacon I’ve ever had. That, plus the fried egg on top made me feel like I was actually eating breakfast. A delicious, decadent, beer-accompanied breakfast.

There were a number of other interesting beers on the menu, but considering my mild hangover and early nature of our visit. I kept my experience at the one beer. We enjoyed a very good meal and we moved on down the road.

While we were there we got ourselves our Brewers Guild beer trail passport and first sticker. This passport is pretty cool and each participating brewery, which is pretty much all of them, will give you a stamp or sticker when you visit and there are rewards for getting a certain numbers of stickers. What fun! Any reason to get out on the beer trail is good for me.
