Weekend Roundup 10/18/18
Here is the latest edition of our weekend roundup. Below are a few new beers hitting the scene this week that have psyched to get onto the Connecticut beer trail. It’s a great weekend for stopping at the first ever CT brew cup. Connecticut’s first annual brewing competition. Looks like a pretty serious showing, it is being hosted by the professional firefighters association in North Haven at the fairgrounds. Most notable CT breweries will be on hand to compete for bragging rights and what I presume is a Stanley cup sized trophy. Be there or be square. Also, be on the look out for some of these wicked looking brews along the way.
OEC Brewing - CHERRIES. GRAPES. GOOSEBERRIES. ABSINTHE. MORE CANS. Saturday. Kriekenfuffle in 500ml/1.5L, Albus Dbl Barrel Singularis aged in absinthe barrels and Albus Young & Dry in cans! Quite the smorgasbord!
Counterweight Brewing - Slumbering Behemoth Stout (10% abv) and Total Inundation Triple IPA - the final chapter in the Inundation saga (a story we have closely followed). Look at the head on that beer. Ridiculous.
This is one of the more exciting releases and I am very pumped! ARMADA and BAD SONS are dropping brewery exclusive cans. Part 1 - a Pineapple Coconut IPA can be purchased at The Beeracks. Part 2 - a Double Chocolate Milk Stout can be purchased at Bad Sons. These both sound great but the idea of mixing them is very intriguing! Black and Tans for everyone.
Back East Brewing - Unicorn Farm IPA. From a brewery we don’t usually get up to, they have this unique IPA with a slightly modified recipe for a juicier brew. I love the IPAs they put out, looking forward to getting our hands on this one!
