Pumpkin Beer Roundup
It’s that time of year again, love it or hate it. We think there are many reason why pumpkin beer gets way too little love and it’s hip to rag on - check out our thoughts later this week about why these spicy brews deserve a pour in your glass.
In the meantime, CT has never before had such a wide variety of these seasonally appropriate brews. Here are some that caught our eye this week, so get out there and get some!
Thimble Island: Dark Pumpkin Porter, a classic, where the sweetness of the pumpkin blends perfectly with the roasted malt of the porter.
Lockcity: Lockolanter a hefty 10% spiced pumpkin beer.
Two Roads: Roads Mary Baby needs no introduction - a traditional pumpkin ale with a Two Roads spin, it's aged in rum barrels for added complexity and depth of flavor. The result is a smooth drinking ale with notes of pumpkin, spices, vanilla, oak and a touch of rum.
Shebeen: Harvest Home Pumpkin Scotch Ale a true Scottish Export with 8 English malts balanced against just enough pumpkin to impart that "Fall" flavor with a delicate kiss of East Kent Goldings hop in the finish
AND Pumpkin Spiced Cannoli Beer a pumpkin spice take on the well spiced flagship Cannoli beer.
Half Full: Positively Pumpkin Medium body, moderate bitterness, an essence and flavor of pumpkin and spices and rounds out with an earthy warming finish.
Five Churches: PumpKINDA Beer A pumpkin beer that isn’t your typical pumpkin beer. Measured amounts of pumpkin with cinnamon, clove, ginger and vanilla. Rich and creamy, like a fall dessert in a glass.
