Fox Farm Gather and Butter Beer Cupcake

The Beer: Gather is a Keller Pilsner. It is a light, refreshingly tasty beer with a super mild finish, a big aroma and hops that are a nicely subtle floral and kinda spicy. A rocking German pilsner, the term Keller Beer translates to cellar beer - as in one you drink in your cellar after it has lagered. Fox farm is just killing it. This beer is really excellent and their focus on quality and form is beyond measure.

The Cookie: These cupcakes are Harry Potter themed that a friend made for my birthday, crafted after the Butter Beer that appears throughout the series. The frosting is a butterscotch whipped cream and they were dressed with some kind of butterscotch concoction that sweetened and moistened up the cake. A secret surprise is the heath crunch pieces placed in the bottom of the paper cupcake foil. They were so tasty. I loved the frosting the most, it was so soft and delicious.

The Pairing: The butterscotch was big and sweet, it met the mild flavors of the beer really well. They are both light and tasty in different ways. I’m a big Harry Potter fan, so it was extra fun to enjoy some Harry Potter themed sweets. I’ve made Butter Beer floats before, and I think it’s time to make some beer based Butter Beer floats, be on the lookout for those.
